Our Story
It Started With My Grandmother
Long before I understood what “handmade” meant, I already knew what it felt like.
My grandmother has always been good with her hands. She knows how to sew, work with all kinds of fabrics, and knit with yarn. When I was little, many of the clothes I wore were knitted by her.
She chose the yarn, thought about the colors, counted every stitch, and slowly turned something simple into something made especially for me.
At the time, I did not fully understand how much care lived inside those clothes. I only knew that they felt warm, familiar, and completely mine.
A Way of Living She Gave Me
My grandmother is still an important part of my life, and the way she lives continues to influence me.
Through her, I learned that care does not always need to be spoken. Sometimes it appears in a carefully chosen piece of fabric, a row of tiny stitches, or something useful made patiently by hand.
She showed me that everyday objects can be both practical and beautiful. More importantly, she showed me a slower and more thoughtful way of living—taking the time to make, repair, reuse, and appreciate the things around us.
These values stayed with me, even before I realized they would one day become part of something I created myself.
How Nono Moment Began
When I began sewing and making things of my own, the feeling was strangely familiar.
The sound of the sewing machine, the texture of fabric between my fingers, and the quiet rhythm of working stitch by stitch brought me back to the handmade world I grew up around.
Nono Moment began as a way to continue that feeling and the way of life my grandmother gave me.
“Nono” represents the courage to say no to what does not feel right and to choose a life that feels more like your own.
“Moment” is a reminder to slow down and notice the small, ordinary moments that are easy to overlook.
Together, Nono Moment is about choosing thoughtfully, creating patiently, and finding happiness in the everyday.
Made Slowly, Made With Care
Nono Moment creates small-batch fabric pieces for everyday living—handmade bags, embroidered aprons, coasters, placemats, and other little things for the home.
I am drawn to soft fabrics, gentle colors, embroidery, playful details, and designs that feel comforting while still being useful.
Because many pieces are handmade, no two will ever be completely identical. A pattern may fall in a slightly different place, and a stitch may carry the subtle trace of the hand that made it.
To me, these are not imperfections. They are part of what makes a handmade object feel personal and alive.
Continuing What She Gave Me
Nono Moment is not only about making products. It is my way of continuing the values my grandmother quietly passed on to me.
The patience to make something slowly.
The care to notice small details.
The belief that useful things can still hold beauty, warmth, and meaning.
What began with the clothes she knitted for me now continues through the things I make with my own hands.
